CUV Town Hall: Meet the Provo Candidates

Join Conserve Utah Valley for an essential Candidate Town Hall on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Multipurpose Room at the Provo Rec Center.

This important forum offers Provo residents the opportunity to hear directly from candidates for Provo City Mayor and City Council on the critical environmental and conservation issues facing our community.

The discussion will focus on how candidates envision balancing Provo’s anticipated growth with the preservation of its natural resources.

What to Expect: The event will be moderated by Conserve Utah Valley and structured into two forums: a Mayoral Forum and a City Council Forum.

Candidates, including Mayoral candidates Marsha Judkins and Michelle Kaufusi, and City Council candidates Katrice MacKay, Adam Shin, Jeff Whitlock, Hannah Petersen, Sam Blackburn, and Rachel Whipple, will articulate their perspectives on key topics:

  • Vision for Environmental Sustainability & Balancing Growth
  • Water Quality & Management for Utah Lake and the Provo River
  • Land Use, Hillsides, and Open Space Preservation, including agricultural lands
  • Renewable Energy & Provo Power’s goals Sustainable Development Standards and green infrastructure
  • Community & Citizen Committee Engagement in environmental policy
  • Air Quality & Sustainable Transportation options

All questions for the candidates have been developed by Conserve Utah Valley based on city plans and public priorities, ensuring a focused and productive discussion.
